Invest In The Future Of The Earth:
Our Children

STOCKS, TAX ADVANTAGED & LEGACY GIVING

  • Stock: Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated stock directly to EFAA. By giving stock, your gift to The Kiva Center and your personal tax savings may be greater than if donating after-tax proceeds of stock you sell yourself. Contact info@thekivacenter.com for more information.

  • IRA: If you are 70½ years or older, consider making your gift to The Kiva Center from your IRA. You can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like Kiva without having to pay income taxes on the money. This may be a great way to meet all or part of your IRA’s required minimum distribution (RMD) and help families in need.

  • Donor Advised Funds (DAFs): A donor advised fund (DAF) is a personal charitable vehicle that donors can establish at a community foundation or financial institution, like Fidelity or Schwab. A DAF allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate income tax deduction, and recommend grants from the fund over time to qualified nonprofits, such as The Kiva Center.

  • Wills and Bequests: A gift through your will costs you nothing now and will make a tremendous impact on supporting The Kiva Center, our programs, staff, and community.

  • Other Gift Options

    • Life Insurance: Consider naming The Kiva Center as a beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or name The Kiva Center as the owner of a life insurance policy that’s no longer needed or will no longer benefit your survivors.

    • Charitable Remainder Trusts or Charitable Lead Trusts: These more sophisticated giving vehicles can help with retirement, estate planning, and tax management, offering flexibility, some control over your intended charitable beneficiaries, as well as lifetime income.

*Please consult your financial planner or tax advisor to determine the best options for you and your family.
