Connect, Learn, and Grow: The Kiva Center Community Programs for ALL Ages
Community Programs
We prioritize intergenerational connection and cultural exchange, creating vital opportunities to strengthen community ties and foster mutual learning and mentorship.
The Kiva Center Community Programs offer a diverse, intergenerational approach to nature connection, welcoming all ages.
These meaningful and fun events—from seasonal celebrations and cultural exchanges to practical skill-building workshops—are designed to help you awaken the wisdom and awe of nature into your daily life. The gatherings are a powerful way to strengthen community bonds and foster opportunities for eldership among participants, including our Homeschool Enrichment families and the wider community. We strive to make our Community Program events accessible and affordable for all.
Strengthening Community Through Nature

Our programs are held on The Kiva Center’s stunning 80-acre site in Lefthand Canyon. This location is a true natural classroom, beautifully situated at the meeting point of creek, prairie, and mountain. With its towering rock formations, dense pine forests, and the nearby flow of Lefthand Creek, it provides an ideal, immersive environment for exploration and connection.
Experienced Leadership: Your experience is guided by Lorene Wapotich, a respected nature-based experiential educator and wilderness guide with over 30 years of experience, supported by The Kiva Center’s dedicated mentors, community members, and volunteers.
